ICS is currently hiring for the following positions:

JOB COACH

FUNCTION: To train individuals with disabilities in vocational and social skills so that they can succeed in supported employment and job placement services.

REPORTING: Reports to Irene Birch, Employment Coordinator

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Learns all functions required by the host employer for the job and performs those functions that the employee cannot do.
2. Trains the employees in all skills necessary to perform the job. This is not limited to only vocational skills, but may include transportation training, safety training, social skills, accessing community resources, money management, behavior management, social security, etc.
3. Ensures employee's job performance meets or exceeds host employer's standards. 4. Completes all job-required paperwork in a neat and timely fashion.
5. Reduces supervisory time ("fades") as employee demonstrates mastery of the job.
6. Provides a positive role model for the employee in all situations and treats the employee with respect and dignity.
7. Possesses good judgment, common sense, and problem solving skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School graduate with a minimum of two years of experience working in the teaching profession or working with individuals with disabilities. Valid California driver's license with proof of insurance and DMV printout which verifies a safe driving record. Individual must possess excellent verbal and written skills, be cooperative, and demonstrate versatility, adaptability and the ability to work under changing conditions. Technical requirements: familiar with Word and an ability to learn other computer programs such as Excel.

WORK SCHEDULE:

The basic day of work is eight hours, exclusive of meal period. Staffing needs may require a variation in an employee's starting and quitting times and total hours worked each day of the week. INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS TRAINER

FUNCTION:

Responsible for the implementation of program curriculum and services to individuals in the Independent Living Skills Program. Program will provide services in domestic, community, transportation training, financial, and personal/health and hygiene areas.

REPORTING: Reports to ILS Coordinator

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with the assessment of Independent Living Skills.
2. Implement specific training programs and procedures contained in the Independent Living Skills Plan including, but not limited to:
a. Transportation training
b. Domestic Skills training
c. Community skills training
d. Financial skills training
e. Personal/Health and Hygiene skills training

3. Review progress of each individual on a weekly basis and keep accurate records and charts; complete data forms and case notes on a timely basis. Submit quarterly reports to funders.
4. With input from persons served, develop and implement revisions to the Independent Living Skills plan to be submitted to funders.
5. Confer once a week with ICS staff and other professionals involved with the consumer's program.
6. Attend Case Conferences and meetings with other agencies involved with the consumer.
7. Provide positive role model for ICS consumers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate Degree with at least two years experience working with persons with disabilities, preferably in a residential setting and/or teaching. Experience may be substituted for education on a case by case basis. Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written skills, be resourceful, adaptable and able to work within deadlines. Valid California Driver's license with proof of insurance and a DMV printout which indicates candidate has a safe driving record. Willingness to be flexible in work schedule assignments.
