“Hi Donna,

Thank you so much for your help. I cannot express enough my appreciation for you having Lisa provide some support. I was feeling quite hopeless because I didn’t know where else to turn and this seemed to be the end of the line for options given my current situation. Having someone who understands / empathizes with my hurdles make a huge difference – it’s really hard for someone who has not worked w someone w ADD to understand how someone who is smart can allow her life to fall apart to such a degree.

Once I am a bit back on my feet I would welcome repaying / via volunteering / donation for the support services provided. We got a lot accomplished – much of it to do with helping me through decision paralysis, getting focused – (huge challenge when I am stressed) and created a game plan. Lisa is fantastic and so patient. I feel blessed to be getting this help.

Cheers,

Allie”

“Dear Ladies,

I was riding home yesterday, and I thought, "Where would we be without ICS?" We'd be up the creek, that's where we'd be. You all are so professional, so capable, and such dreamboats to work with. I praise you and your coaches for helping so many clients find work and retain it. You da best!

“Hi Donna!

I am going to express individual thank you’s to ICS clients and staff who have been a good help to me. FYI, you have my permission to read this at the Blue Jean Ball if you desire. That way if I'm not there physically, I'll be there mentally.

STAFF:

Christina: She got me into section 8 housing. She even got me my job at RAB. She was one great encouragement.

Tom: He wanted me to try new things and expand my horizons and boundaries.

Meghan: She taught me that I don't need to hug women even if they look pretty. i.e. She showed me HOW to give women their space and remain at least two feet away from them.

Sandy: She helped me to stay clean in my home. She made it uncomfortable to flake on chores. She even wanted me to listen to the Eagles as a way to make chores fun.

Maureen: She exhorted me to eat (or drink) five or more fruits and/or vegetables a day. She helped me to cut back on fast food.

Paul: He was a good job coach, a good disciplinarian, and helped me stay at RAB during my trial period.

Jim: He knew when to defend me. He even exhorted me to support Bay Area sports' teams.

Sasha: She helped me to be more patient and tolerant of women who wear certain types of clothes.

Nicky: She taught me how to accept correction. She exhorted me to keep my language G rated in the work place.

Arthur: He takes me out to lunch to discuss things at work that I do well and need improvement. He even taught me NOT to wear pale hose to the office (i.e. wear black or brown socks, NOT white socks).

CLIENTS: I know this is just a select few, but every client has helped me.

Estelle: She is like a princess. She is very encouraging, and I am encouraged by her presence.

Emily: She exhorted me to stay on my medication AND see the doctor frequently.

Rita: She is the reason I shop at Rite Aid. She is a big help when I'm her customer.

Vicki: She always greets me warmly when I come to the movie club or any ICS event.

Kristin: She is my role model. I think she should be ICS person of the year. She is the only client who, in my opinion, has accomplished more than me.

Maureen aka Johnny Mo: We have a unique bond. We go shopping together. We go to the movies together. We get Jamba Juice together. We watch High School Musical together. I could go on forever!

Ellen: She exhorted me to go bowling with ICS on Fridays. She also is far more athletic than me. She, in an inadvertent way, said that I need to continue playing the sports I love even in my 30s. For her, it's bowling, soccer, and gymnastics. For me, it's cheerleading, and cross country walking.

Jenny: We were college classmates. We even rode together on the bus sometimes. We even greeted each other warmly at the bus depot many times.

All other clients not mentioned: Without all of you, I'd be the loneliest person in the county. You all have been true friends. I have the will to win cause of you.

Every ICS client and staff has given me the will to survive and thrive despite my disability and condition. Without all these clients and staff, I don't know where I would have been.

"We are immensely proud of Chris’ many accomplishments and role of his incredible ICS support team. We are humbled by the dedication, individual attention, compassion, patience and encouragement given to Chris by every member of ICS.

But I just wanted to make sure you know that Chris is not the only beneficiary of ICS’ services. Since you became his day in and day out support team, my husband and I have been given a whole new life. Words cannot describe the feeling of having free time to ourselves, not worrying about and scrambling to deal with all of Chris’ day-to-day work and home-life needs, and even not having to schedule doctor’s appointments. Your services have been therapeutic for us as well in so many ways. Thank you for being guardian angels for our whole family.”

Testimonial for Michael O. from FedEx

Team,

I am pleased to announce our Purple Promise and Humanitarian Award winners for the first quarter of FY09. Throughout our lives, we’ve all learned the importance of helping out others… treating them the same way we want to be treated. As FedEx employees, that’s the same as the Purple Promise, “I will make every FedEx experience outstanding.”

Please join me in congratulating our winners, and thank you for making every FedEx experience outstanding!

Brian

Team,

Congratulations to Michael O. at Sausalito for winning the Purple Promise award for the first quarter in FY09!!!! Here’s what Michael did to win this great service award.

Michael demonstrated his dedication to the Purple Promise by truly going above and beyond the call of duty to assist a distraught customer. A woman came into the Sausalito center to make copies, and as Michael was assisting the customer, she explained that her brother in law had just passed and in the haste of making arrangements she accidentally left her coat in a local bookstore. After calling about her coat, the local bookstore told her that it had not been turned in. Concerned, Michael took a bus over to the bookstore to personally search for the missing coat. He found it lying on the floor in the café area. The next day, Michael called the woman, who was thrilled and very thankful for Michael’s compassion.

Thanks Michael for delivering the Purple Promise!!!!

Chuck

Dear Donna,

Jeremy's Annual meeting went really well. Everyone from ICS gave Jeremy the support he needed when discussing his new goals. He didn't go into panic mode as he understood the concept of making progress with repetition.

I am very grateful for all the support ICS has given Jeremy. God put you on earth at the best time!

Warmly,
Marilyn
