GEM Peer Coach Position Details
We are looking for a compassionate, flexible, and collaborative Peer Coach for our work-readiness training program, Growing Excellence in Marin (GEM). GEM is a vocational rehabilitation program in San Rafael that utilizes the garden environment to teach transferable work skills to people with disabilities.
Peer Coaches draw on their lived experience to support GEM clients in reaching their goals. This is the ideal position for someone who deeply cares about ICS’s mission, has experience (either personally or professionally) with people with disabilities, and loves to work in an outdoor environment. The focus of the role is to teach hard and soft skills to people with a variety of disabilities.
This is a part-time 4-12 hours per week position, $12-$13.50/hr. Work locations will include the ICS office and the GEM garden site, both in San Rafael.
$25/month cell phone reimbursement plus expenses and gas mileage reimbursement
Paid sick days and paid bereavement leave

Model professionalism and a strong work ethic to clients
Train and instruct clients in hard and soft skills
Lead demonstrations of a range of garden activities
Bill/log client hours
Attend GEM staff meetings
Report observations of clients (at staff meetings and at the end of shift)

Valid California driver's license with proof of insurance required, background check will be conducted
