Happy Valentine’s Day from ICS! In honor of Valentine’s Day, we interviewed a few of our staff and clients to ask them: What does love mean to you?
“Love is someone who will listen to and support you. You gotta listen to someone you’re friends with, or if it’s a romantic situation- listening helps so much. It’s always good to have another set of ears. It’s important to feel heard.”
Andrew, ICS Client
“Love is what motivates me. My love for my kids rekindled the love I have for myself, which in turn reflects right back to my kids. My love for my children has saved me in so many ways, it’s my reason for being. I have to do better for myself to be there for them. Love is something that carries you through good times and bad times, it helps you to think of someone other than yourself and that focus is what can carry you through anything.”
Terry, ICS Staff Member
“Love means being connected and having value in a relationship, whether that’s friends, family or a partner. There’s all kinds of love. Having value in a relationship means that there’s trust, reliability and dependability.”
Julie, ICS Client
At ICS love means the connection we have to each of you that supports the work we do together. Thank you so much for your ongoing generosity, particularly in our most recent holiday campaign where we raised valuable funds to promote the self-advocacy of the people we serve.
